Part of the magic of food for me is taking a series of ingredients, putting them together and seeing them transform into something else. I was never very keen on scones, or scone making in fact, but then I found this pretty fool proof recipe for blue cheese and chive scones and it has become a real favourite.
There are different ways to tell a food story and for this one I decided to create a series from rolling out to serving up. I’m not sure I’ll get any hand modelling contracts in the near future but there is something about being in the frame, photographer and photographed. The finished scones are a little mean and moody but I liked how the light caught the textures.
