Stollen Pudding

Star Anise flavourd Stollen Pudding in a white enamel dish

Using up the leftovers

This year my new website is in place and I am excited about sharing my work. I am going to be blogging more and sharing my work in progress. Where better to start than with good intentions about reducing my food waste.

We were lucky to be given some Stollen this year but as I am the only one that eats it there is only so much I can get through before it is beyond its best. So, I found a great recipe and made a pudding. Definitely comfort food, and perfect as we move into a tricky time of year with short gloomy days and no sign of spring yet.

I wanted these images to reflect the warm tones of the pudding, I also cooked it in my Grandmother’s enamel tin so I like to think it is also warmed with her joy for cooking. The pudding is flavoured with star anise, one of my favourite spices, so it seemed only natural it should have a presence in the photographs.

The other beauty about making the pudding was that I could freeze some and enjoy it for longer!
